Line of Credit

If you’re enrolled in a professional graduate or second-entry undergraduate program (such as Dentistry, Law, or Medicine), your financial institution may offer funding options to help with costs. For example, some banks offer student lines of credit for eligible programs such Scotiabank’s ScotiaLine Personal Line of Credit (SLOC) for Students and the Scotia Professional Student Plan (SPSP) Line of Credit.

Note: University of Toronto students are not required to use Scotiabank as a lender. Students are welcome to pursue funding options at the financial institution of their choice. If a department is using a different lender, students are encouraged to contact the department directly for lender information.

Program Eligibility & Scotiabank Contacts

The programs listed below are approved for the ScotiaLine Personal Line of Credit (SLOC) for Students. For details and funding limits, visit the Scotiabank SLOC webpage.

Some programs within the Faculties of Dentistry, Medicine, and Pharmacy are approved instead under the Scotia Professional Student Plan (SPSP) Line of Credit. These programs are identified with the notation “SPSP”.

Scotiabank Contacts

  • If your program is eligible for an SLOC, contact Georgios Stathopoulos at the Queen and McCaul branch: georgios.stathopoulos@scotiabank.com, or phone 1-416-866-3940 ext. 4209.
  • If you are in a Dental or Pharmacy program eligible for an SPSP, contact Caroline DaBreo at Caroline.dabreo@scotiabank.com.
  • If you’re in a Medical program that is eligible for the SPSP, complete this form.
