Dorothy Jean Powell Award
To be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students on the basis of academic standing. First preference will be for students from (or with connections to) the following West Indian/Caribbean countries: Antigua, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Trinidad and Tobago. Where possible, preference should also be given to women applying to or registered in programs where women are under-represented.
Eligibility: Recipient must:
- Be an undergraduate or graduate student
- Demonstrate excellent academic standing

- New for Fall 2024 / Winter 2025: All in-course awards will be awarded in the Fall term. The application will open Monday September 9, 2024 and close on Friday November 1, 2024 at 5 p.m. Only one application is required. You may apply for multiple awards on one U of T Student Award Application Form. Please be sure to check the award criteria before selecting the award.
Notification of decision:
- Award recipients will receive an award letter by email from the University Registrar’s Office, usually one month after the application deadline.
- The award letter will include information on the award payment and should be kept for future reference.
