What’s Accessible and Unavailable Over Winter Break

The University of Toronto will be closed for the winter break from December 24, 2024, through January 3, 2025. During this time, some systems and services will remain accessible, while others will be unavailable or limited. Here’s what you need to know about key systems and services:

Submit Requests Before the Winter Break


To ensure your request is processed before the closure, submit it by the specified deadline below. Requests received after these times will be addressed when operations resume on January 6, 2025.

Transcript Requests

Submit an eTranscript request by December 23, 2024, at 11 a.m. 

Diploma Replacements and Diploma Deliveries

Submit a Diploma Replacement or Diploma Delivery request by December 17, 2024, at 4:30 p.m.

Certification of Degree

Submit a Certification of Degree request by December 18, 2024, at 12 p.m.  

AV Requests for Room Bookings

Registered student group room bookings during the week of January 6, 2025, must submit AV requests by December 19 at 12 p.m. Requests submitted after this time will not be fulfilled. 

Systems Accessible During the Winter Break (Unmonitored)


The following systems will remain available for self-service use throughout the winter break. However, they will not be actively monitored by staff. 

Need Navigator

This platform will remain available for students to submit, review, and update their financial need application for programs such as UTAPS. Information provided in the Need Navigator may also be used to assess eligibility for divisional-level need-based awards.

Award Explorer

Access to the Award Explorer will be open to explore award opportunities. Be sure to check for  upcoming deadlines for awards that require an application.

Student Information Systems

ACORN and other student systems will remain accessible to students. For a complete list of available systems and updates on outages or system disruptions, visit the Systems Availability page.

Services Unavailable During the Winter Break


University Registrar’s Office – Client Services

· Email, Phone, and In-Person Support: Unavailable after December 23, 2024, at 12 p.m. 
· Service Portal Tickets and forms: Submissions close December 20, 2024, at 5 p.m.  
· Knowledgebase FAQs/articles will remain accessible for self-help. 
· Reopening: Services resume on January 6, 2025, at 9:30 a.m.

Office of Convocation

· Email, Phone, and In-Person Support: Unavailable after December 23, 2024, at 2 p.m. 
· Reopening: Services resume on January 6, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
